Since 1919, the American Legion has provided services to our military   veterans and families, promoted Americanism and encouraged support for our active duty military.  Your local American Legion Post 162 is reaching out for much-needed support in continuing our programs:

• We ship care packages to Hillsdale active duty personnel, and participate in programs that provide important items to our overseas troops.  We have furnished thousands of books to service members through "Operation Paperback."
• We visit the Veterans Home in Paramus, coordinate recreational activities and donate much-needed items to the residents.
• We sponsor Hillsdale students at Boys State and Girls State, a week long program where participants gain firsthand knowledge of our state and federal government.
• We conduct services for Veterans Day and Memorial Day, and supervise proper flag disposal ceremonies.  We provide Blue Star Banners to families of Hillsdale active duty service members.
• We sponsor BoyScouts and regularly conduct school programs on topics such as flag etiquette and the Pledge of Allegiance.

        We do our best to support those who protected our freedoms and those who continue to do so around the world.  We receive no local, state or federal funding.  Your donation will help us to continue to serve those who have served us.
