Please Help Us To Recognize Those Who Served and Sacrificed
in All of Our Wars
Post 162 has obtained a matching grant from Bergen County to upgrade our current memorial located in Veteran's Park.
The current Memorial was created by the 1700 residents of Hillsdale in 1922, soon after World War I, to recognize and honor the service and sacrifice of its residents. It is a marvelous monument, but it dates back to the early 1920s and does not recognize what has transpired in the last 100 years.
We feel we must recognize those who served in every war. From the early wars to World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the conflicts in the Middle East since.
The proposed upgrade will expand the Memorial to recognize and honor those who served and sacrificed in all the wars of our country.
As the County grant will cover only 50% of the cost of the upgrade, the American Legion Post 162 must come up with the other 50%. We need your help to cover the anticipated costs.
Your donations will allow us to accomplish this. As a 501 (C)(19) non profit organization, American Legion Post 162 donations are tax deductible to the extent allowable by the law.
The best way to contribute is to send your check made out to American Legion Post 162 with Veterans Park Fund in the memo line to:
